Gracie's Goes to GVS for Enlarged Gall Bladder
Today Gracie's appointment at GVS was for an enlarged gall bladder. We were referred to Dr.Lisa Langs at GVS after Gracie's vet, Dr. Miller, at Village Vets noticed an enlarged gall bladder with "sludge" around it. (Gracie has a history of bladder stones and we were just checking for that when he noticed the gall bladder in an x-ray). I took Gracie in for her appointment and all her vitals looked normal but Dr. Langs wanted to dosome scans which meant I had to leave her there for a while. (I hate leaving her like that) A couple of hours later Dr. Langs called me back and said that the gall bladder issue had resolved itself, but that they found something on the images that they weren't expecting.....a mass on one of Gracie's lungs. My heart sank as she told me that she recommended a surgical consult immediately. I went and picked up Gracie, scheduled the appointment for Monday (by this time it was late Thursday afternoon) and talked to Dr. Langs about what the mass could be. She said typically when they see it that size that it's often cancerous. I felt a wave of sickness. Cancer?!?!
