I paid Gracie a visit in the morning....she looked pitiful and in pain, but I could tell she was happy to see me. They didn't yet know if she would be able to come home today or if it would be Friday. It would be much later in the day before I could find out.  The tech told me she had a restful night, but that it took a while for her to settle down after our visit. I was hoping it wasn't so upsetting that it slowed down her healing, but selfishly I was so happy for our time together.  Our morning visit was shorter than the night before as I had to leave to get some work done. I knew whether she came home tonight or not that we would be visiting again later in the day so I felt a little better about that.
It was late in the day when I learned she could come home that night. By the time we got home it was after 9pm. She was in pain, but Bugsy and Charlie were happy to see her and came to greet her. The pain meds knocked her out pretty good, but that's good so she could get a restful sleep.  The family was together and I think that was comforting for Gracie...and me too. I didn't sleep much, just wanted to keep checking on her to make sure she was okay. Seeing her with all her bandages was hard, but we were happy to have her home.
