Gracie was hungry, which was a good sign. We had to get all her pain meds in her food, but she did well to take them all. She was still soooo uncomfortable.  Charlie kept checking on her, Bugsy checked on her too. It's funny because her brothers, Charlie and Bugsy, seem to know to stay close to her to comfort her. They're so sweet.  This was the first time we could see the actual size of Gracie's incision....it's huge!  She has 11 staples in the main incision between her ribs, a small bandage covered the stitch where the chest tube was to make sure any additional air or fluid drained properly out of the chest cavity. (The shiny area you can see on her back is the pain patch she will wear until the 25th) The pain must be making Gracie tired, but that's fine because the rest will help her body heal. That will be important for her because we need to get her healthy and strong to face whatever we need to face next.
