Looking for better blood count news

Today Gracie has to get her white blood cell WBC count rechecked. It was dangerously low Friday evening leaving her body without anything to fight off an infection. I spent the weekend on "Gracie watch" to make sure she didn't spike a fever or show signs of getting sick otherwise she would have to go straight back to emergency. We went in the morning, I was too anxious to wait much longer, to see if the antibiotics we switched to were working and her WBC was coming back up.  They took us in quickly, we didn't have to wait long at all. The vet tech came back with the results shortly after taking Gracie back to tell me they were improving. Great news! The whole thing was a learning curve of sorts. When we checked her WBC on Friday it was when the side effects of her chemo were likely to be the most noticeable, good to know.  It also meant that after the next chemo treatment we would have to keep a closer eye on her WBC to make sure we didn't let it get that low again.  I took Gracie home to celebrate with Charlie and get something to eat. She was starving, which made me happy.
