Gracie's Good X-ray News (2nd Chemo Day part 2)

Gracie was done her treatment kind of late today.....I think she will be one of the last ones done every time because her treatment type takes so long.  It was getting close to 7pm by the time we pulled out of the GVS parking lot.  BUT--the good news is Dr. Hamilton says her x-ray recheck is clear! That's great news! Gracie's second treatment seems to be a little harder on her in a way than her first treatment. Like the last time she had to pee like a race horse getting out of there (they mix the chemo with fluids and give it to her through an IV all day long so that little patch of grass outside the door must look like the perfect place for a little relief )  This time I notice that Gracie also has a little bloody diarrhea which is one of the common side effects with the drugs she's getting. Regardless, Gracie is happy to see me and ready to hit the road home.  Just like the last time she's exhausted after her treatment. She wants to touch me, nudging me with her nose to pet her and then settling for me holding onto her front paw while she sleeps on the pillow I put on the front passenger seat for her.  She slept hard during the ride back, even snoring. When we got back she quickly went to get something to drink....and then check out her food bowl. I know she was hungry, she was letting me know barking by her bowl, but she can't eat on chemo days because it could make her sick. Dr. Hamilton gave the ok for chicken broth so I gave her some of that which Gracie quickly slurped up....and I do mean slurp!  I'm glad she's hungry in spite of her treatment. That's good too. Two treatments down....four to go.  Go Gracie Go!
