More Moustache Falling Out....White Blood Cell Count Low
Well I'm glad Gracie is happy as ever to eat. That's a good sign! Today Gracie has to get her WBC checked since it dropped so low after her first treatment. We decided to go to GVS to get it done because of the holiday weekend (Gracie's regular vet sends their blood work out and GVS does it in house). She's in the 7-10 day window which has the most potential side effects. It was too warm for Charlie to come for a ride with us, but he was happy to hang out in the yard and chase birds. We got to GVS and Gracie's tech Anna took her in to get the blood work done. Gracie was excited to see her, Anna knows the trick....rub Gracie's paws to make her happy. Gracie's WBC was low, but her weight was good. That means over the weekend we have to keep a close eye on Gracie to make sure she doesn't spike a fever, get lethargic, start vomiting or lose her appetite. Gracie's had a little "loose stool" so we've also got to keep an eye on that to make sure it doesn't get worse or continue. I can tell the second round of chemo is taking its toll on Gracie's moustache too. She was laying on the couch and I saw a big chunk of moustache hair on the couch. Her moustache is definitely thinning, but it's okay so long as she's doing well with her treatment and getting better. Right now Gracie and Charlie are waiting for their supper so off I go....feeding time!
