Gracie's Wednesday a Bit Better

Gracie slept in a little, which means she slept until about 8am instead of 630ish.  When she did get up the first thing she did was start pouncing around with her buddy Charlie.  That's always a good sign as far as I'm concerned.  We started by giving Gracie her Pepcid and other meds, but haven't added in all the supplements the nutritionist said to mix in.  Gracie was still fussing about her food so I modified her special diet and gave Gracie mostly chicken breast (all white meat/no skin) with some boiled carrots and a little bit of cooked millet mixed in. She kind of picked around the millet, but ate some of it and ate up all the chicken and carrots.  Not to worry, Charlie was happy to finish what Gracie did not so nothing went to waste. By the way, Charlie is the loudest eater you might ever encounter with his smack, smack, smack. What a goof.  Gracie ate her dinner too and some carrot snacks throughout the day so that was good. Dr. Miller from Village Vets called and said the cultures they took last week from the urinalysis showed she has a urinary tract infection so there's that to deal with also.  Right now he said the type of antibiotic she takes from her chemo should work, but if the leaking continues they may have to add another type of antibiotic to the mix also.  As long as we do what we need to do the get it addressed.  This weekend is Gracie's home quarantine weekend where the side effects from her treatment can cause her WBC count to drop to their lowest level so we'll just have to keep a close eye on everything.
